The Centralia Philharmonic Orchestra is seeking original music compositions either previously composed or to be composed that will be performed at the Orchestra concert on Saturday, May 8, 2027.

Ideally, the piece will utilize all sections of the Orchestra and be at a difficulty level commensurate with needs identified by the Orchestra’s Music Director and Conductor. Any commissioned piece must be ready for review and rehearsal by February 15, 2027. It is anticipated that multiple pieces will be commissioned by the Orchestra for this event.

Composers will receive a stipend not to exceed $250 per commissioned piece. Stipend amount may be determined by length and intricacy of piece as determined by the Music Director/Conductor.

Although the Orchestra will not profit from any recordings of a commissioned piece, the Orchestra reserves the right to perform the piece and record and/or video its presentation for the Orchestra’s own promotional purposes.
